Fun Facts

Fun Fact # 1: By Allie Mackay, Sue-Ellen Welfonder

SOME LIKE IT KILTED’s heroine is an ex-airline stewardess. So am I. Many of her thoughts, remembered experiences, and comments, about her airline days could also be mine. It was fun writing her and revisiting what I think of as ‘the good old days.’ I loved flying.

Fun Fact # 2: By Allie Mackay, Sue-Ellen Welfonder

Of all the books I’ve written, SOME LIKE IT KILTED is my personal favorite. More than any other title, including both writing names, this is the one I love the most.

Fun Fact # 3: By Allie Mackay, Sue-Ellen Welfonder

In another blog’s hero interview, the hero of WINTER FIRE was asked his favorite color. His answer was: “The pristine blue-white of frost and snow. Add cold wind and a clear and starry winter night, and I’m a happy man.” His words could have been my own. I love winter, which made writing WINTER FIRE such a joy for me. My love of winter (with all its cold, snow, and magic) comes from having spent two decades of my adult life living in Bavaria, in the foothills of the Alps.

The Fun fact about THE DUKE’S LADY is that it’s the first book I ever wrote.  The book had so many rejection letters that I could paper a wall.  However, I kept editing it and making it better until the book finally sold in 1999 and the rest is history.  It is the best selling of all my book because everyone falls in love with the characters.

Fun Fact # 5: By Brenda Jernigan

The second fun fact is the pirates … the Lafitte brothers.  When I would write about them – they would take over the story.  I also have them in another book titled LOVE ONLY ONCE.
